The US administration, led by President Donald Trump, plans to welcome 1 000 Afrikaner “refugees” this year through its resettlement programme.
This follows the approval of asylum for two groups of white South Africans who cited “fear of persecution” and “racial discrimination” in their home country.
Earlier this year, in a controversial decision, Trump also indefinitely stopped refugee admissions from other nations.
