Imagine a world-class African city without a central place where its people can go for service, for connection and for accountability. Imagine Johannesburg. For almost three years now, the Metro Centre, formerly known as Johannesburg’s Civic Centre, has been abandoned and left to ruin. Daily Maverick gained access to the building and found a place of ghosts.
