A group of approximately 100 Afrikaner refugees from South Africa landed safely in Atlanta today, just 35 minutes before reports began circulating. They arrived as part of the ongoing U.S. refugee program prioritizing white South Africans, primarily Afrikaners, and other minority groups like coloreds and indians —descendants of Dutch, French Huguenot, and German settlers who have formed a distinct cultural and linguistic community in South Africa for over 300 years.
