South Africa has a big backlog of job seekers on two fronts.
Seventy-six comma six percent (76,6%) of the unemployed 8.4 million people are long-term unemployed or are almost permanent job seekers. T
The second part of this back log is that the discouraged work seekers also have been increasing since 2009, they are now sitting at 3.4 million. This back log has been increasing since 2009, sixteen years now. Joblessness is now a norm even in the prosperous white population ( over ten years the white unemployment rate moved from 7% to 8%), and among the university graduates (12.2% unemployment now).
